Haunted Circus Theme – Haunted House Ideas

Clowns are the age old choice for a quick haunted house idea. There is a natural fear of them for many. For those that do not have a natural fear of clowns then they will once you add a little haunted house magic to them. Throw some not so kid friendly face paint on your clown actor, maybe some gross or evil teeth and a bit of blood and poof you have a fear inducing clown on your hands to stick in your haunted house somewhere.
Now when choosing a theme for your haunted house you are not doing just one room or character but a whole environment and cast. This requires many characters, rooms, props and lots of theme specific decorations that must all be items and things you could find in a real circus. The environment will be the circus so things like tent material, balloons, game booths, popcorn and cotton candy are all great items to throw into your areas. The best part about these items is they are real and you would most likely see them within a real circus. By keeping the realism high you create a more fear inducing environment because people feel that it is real and it is what a circus might be like if it went all bad like in the movies.
Commemorate Rob Zombie’s homicidal clown and depraved owner of a gas station/tourist attraction with a serial killer/freak show/horror theme when you display this officially licensed Captain Spaulding life-sized animated prop. His violent personality kicks in if someone disrespects clowns, so be careful – he moves and utters unspeakable and scary sounds and words but it’s his evil deeds you must be most fearful of. Create your own kind of freak show with this six foot tall nightmare and let the fun and games begin. Click The Image To Visit Our Affiliate Site! Lets take a look at how you might lay out a circus theme with clowns within your haunted house. First off is your ticket booth, you want to make it look like one you would find at a circus, this adds to the realism of the haunt and exposes people to it before they actually get in so the build up has already started. The entrance can be circus tent material setup to look like you are walking into on of the big top tents. Throw some fog at the entrance so you cant see in just a wall of fog that falls on the
inside and flows to the ground and lays low and now you have a really fear inducing entrance. Once you get into the haunted house there are dozens of room ideas you could use. A room setup like a game booth or a concession stand is one example and then just make them all twisted and creepy. A room made to look like the inside of a trailer where the ring master lives would be a great one too. If you can get some real or animatronic animals then maybe some animal cage rooms would work or even without anything in the cages just sounds from dark corners or behind some items blocking the view and have bloody body parts in the cages.
If you take what I have discussed here and put it into use then you have the makings for a great circus themed haunt. Throw in some of your own ideas that will work along side things like the evil clown characters and the animal cage room ideas I have discussed and your in business. In the next post about haunted house ideas I will build on this theme by going into detail on the characters you can create to be used within your circus haunted house. When you throw all this together with some circus props you will have one super creepy and fear inducing haunted house.
